Parkersburg, Iowa (October 9, 2009) – Volunteers are needed to help plant approximately 30 new trees in a tornado-ravaged neighborhood in Parkersburg. The planting event will take place on Saturday, October 24, starting at 9:00 a.m. Trees Forever is helping to organize this fall tree planting event as part of its ongoing Recover, Replant & Restore program.

The Mid American "Plant Some Shade" event will be held in Parkersburg, April 23. Download the  application and tree information.

The Parkersburg Tree Board is made up of businesses, organizations and local residents whose current focus is to guide tree planting efforts to those affected by the May 25 EF5 tornado, as well as other areas of town. Information provided by the Parkersburg Tree Board includes city ordinance requirements, tree species selection and future plans for the city.
